This is the last bunch of my adventures with Harriet.
Harriet got to go to the dentist with me. (Her teeth are just fine.)
She watched movies with me.
She tried to hide in a Christmas tree and inside a vase.
We were feeling artsy and she ended up on the purple shelf and in the craft cupboard.
We snacked on candy canes and tried to resist the beautiful Christmas ornaments in the bowl. (They looked like big jaw breakers.)
And finally, she guarded the cookies for Santa.
It was a fun little project.
Who knows what my picture project will be next holiday season?
For now, I’m glad the holiday season is over and am looking forward to the new year.
More adventures with Harriet the Holiday Hippo.
This week, she went to the bar with me to hang with friends.
She was my break buddy when I helped a friend move.
She got caffeinated with me at Starbucks and at school during finals.
Poor Harriet got eaten by a cute baby.
She modeled the inside of my new suitcase.
And she proved she was too school for cool modeling some shades.
We had a busy week and it’s only busier this week.
If you missed her other adventures, you find them here and here.
This week Harriet was again traveling everywhere with me.
She posed at school (Portland Community College) on one of the art structures and kept me company while I was studying.
She cuddled with Barney and tried to hide in the Christmas tree.
She kept me company in a waiting room and enjoyed the downtown Portland view.
She also modeled my new backdrop for me.
I laugh every time I pull her out to snap a picture.
It is so far the best way to instill holiday cheer in my heart.
You can see the first week here.
Harriet has been going everywhere with me.
(I am aware she is not real but for the purposes of the illustrated story, I’m going to pretend she is.
Thanks for your understanding.)
First, she simply stood in the spotlight for her introduction.
She has been traveling in my purse just waiting for the next photo op.
We chilled in the car at the high school waiting for the teenager to get out.
Harriet went to my geology class with me.
We fed the horses together.
We picked up some wood for a fire one chilly night.
And she helped me pick out some meat for a dinner treat.
Surprisingly, nobody has laughed and pointed when I pull her out for a picture.
Actually, most seem interested and entertained.
I’m having fun crawling out of my box so it’s all dandy as far as I’m concerned.
Introducing Harriet the holiday hippo.
I’m going to be taking pictures of her everyday until Christmas.
My favorite holiday song is “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas”.
(Hear it here.)
I got this purple cutie several years ago from a friend who knew I loved that song.
I decided to make her my photo project this season.
Should be fun.
My mind is swimming with ideas.
So many that I’m having a hard time sorting them out so I can decide which one I to tackle first.
It’s been a few months since I shared some of my Instagram shots.
So we’re going to catch up via my Instagram shots.
I’ll start off with a picture of my baby sister.
I love fat cats.
I went on a minor quest trying some different sodas for a while.
Some good stuff.
Love these cookie jars from Anthropologie.
Spending some time together downtown on National Museum Day.
Bea and I went to the mall for a girls’ day.
We tried out lots of nail polish and eye liners.
This is what happens when the teenager gets her hand on my phone.
Multiplied times 50.
You have no idea.
Autumn is my favorite season.
Apparently this is what I look like when I’m shooting.
I always wondered.
This is Maggie and Mya.
Such pretty girls.
