Maternity Session ~My SIL at 28 weeks~

I had an awesome and much needed girl’s day with my sis-in-law yesterday.
We saw What to Expect When You’re Expecting.
We did some shopping and a little eating.
A LOT of talking.
(At least on my part. Once I get started, it’s hard to stop.)
And we had a little (way overdue) session.

We decided to see the movie and do the session at the Kennedy School
We walked around and checked out some of the cool and eclectic art around the school.
(More on that tomorrow.)

Every time we passed this gong, Ang would hit it.
First, she had to take a quick peek for others.

Then she hit it.
I admit, I jumped a little the first time.
Fun stuff.

One of the fun parts of shooting with Angie is that she lets me loose creatively.
I decided to try out a new lens and I love the way it turned out.
I started with my most basic lens first though.

03-DSC_0328

Such a sassy lady sometimes. Lol.

04-DSC_0329

That smile is infectious though right?

05-DSC_0333

It never hurts to stop and smell the roses.
Or any other flower.

07-DSC_0336

The light was perfect for me to try out my Holga lens.
I love the effect it gives.
A lot of the shots ended up with a 70’s feel I think.
I like it.

08-DSC_0337

I love love this shot.

10-DSC_0344

A classic Angie look.
Doesn’t she kinda look like she considering what kind of trouble to get into next?

12-DSC_0348

14-DSC_0352

Classic belly shot.
Another one of my favorites.

15-DSC_0351

Not the best shot technically, but I love the reflective feel.
Mamas-to-be spend a lot of time reflecting.
Life is going to seem completely different in a few short months.

16-DSC_0353

This was a just for fun shot.
I don’t think she was expecting me to actually take it.
I love it.

17-DSC_0354

18-DSC_0356

I think she looks a bit like the cat with the canary in mouth.
So cute.

19-DSC_0394

This is the final random shot.
I don’t think she even realized I was pointing at her.
This is reality.
No posing.
Simply checking her text messages.
Still, it’s a moment to remember.
I am so excited for this new little one to join our family.

*****

My cousin just had a new addition.
I am so sad that I won’t be able to meet the new angel for a while. (They live in California.)
But my thoughts are with her and her BEAUTIFUL family.

Personal Pizza Problem

Last weekend my guy went out of town to work so Miss Margaret and I were home alone.
He also had the car so we were stuck eating whatever was in the house.

1-DSC_0249

We found some boxed pizza dough and some pizza sauce.
We decided to each make our own personal pizzas.

2-DSC_0250

I totally let her make hers all by herself.
So funny.

3-DSC_0254

While the dough was a sticky step, the sauce step went smoothly.

4-DSC_0252

Having eaten the olives as a snack the day before, we were sadly lacking in toppings.
We had some deli ham though that Miss Margaret snipped up to put on her pizza.

5-DSC_0258

Our pizzas went into some round cake pans and tossed them into the oven.

7-DSC_0260

I think they turned out pretty good.

6-DSC_0259

I put some yellow bell peppers on mine.
Simple but good.

8-DSC_0261

They were the perfect size for a plate.

9-DSC_0262

Look at that proud little chef.

They looked so much better than they tasted.
That was too bad but it was fun.

Purse Exchange Party

I got invited to a small party, (my favorite kind), over the weekend.
It was a purse exchange party.
We each brought a purse (or three) to exchange.

We had a couple foreign purses on the trade table.
This one was from Argentina I believe.

DSC_0007

And I’m pretty sure this one was from India.
Gorgeous.

Of course there was some yummy food.
The ranch dip for the veggies was super fab.

The rum margaritas were quite tasty as well.

DSC_0038

Check out that slushy goodness.

DSC_0041

After we all snacked and visited for a while we played White Elephant for the purses.
I got first pick and had 3 of my purses taken.
Then I finally got to steal and took this classy Coach bag.

DSC_0047

This is all of us with our new purses.
I also got that cute little red clutch for Miss Margaret.

DSC_0051

This was our lovely party hostess.

DSC_0052

And we all partied in her lovely home.

DSC_0053

I’m not one for big groups so this party was perfect for me.

DSC_0054

It was really nice to get out of the house and hang out with the girls.

DSC_0009

These were our cute “doggie bags” that were filled with super yummy homemade chocolate coffee truffles.

Thanks for an awesome time girls.
I am totally looking forward to an accessory exchange.

Girls’ Day ~Drinks and a Pedi~

I got a call from my Work Wife.
It was time for a girl’s day before one of the girls got married.

We all got together in the morning and started the day with a nice pedicure.
I was so in need of some girl time.
My GPS led me a little astray though and I was the last to arrive.

DSC_0038

The bachelorette here was already getting her paraffin wax treatment.

DSC_0039

DSC_0042

They had me sit in the little kid butterfly chair until they were ready to put me into a grown-up chair.  That’s what I got for being late.

DSC_0044

There were six of us all together.
We all used to work together on a contract that has since been outsourced.

DSC_0050

It was awfully nice to get to do something girly and catch up.
And, yes, gossip too.

DSC_0058

I went for some Miss Piggy Pink myself.

DSC_0060

Everyone had to wait for me to get finished up.

DSC_0063

That’s my work wife laughing and pointing at me.

DSC_0073

All of our freshly beautified toes.

We all went our separate ways with plans to meet up for drinks later.
My work wife and I went out for lunch first.
So good.
And so nice to spend some quality time with such a good friend.

DSC_0077

I was late meeting up for drinks too.
That time it was due to teenager conflicts at home.
But I got it figured out and managed to go hang with the girls and a couple of their guys for a couple hours.

DSC_0080

The drinks and food were good.
Conversations flowed easily.

DSC_0081

Fun was had by all.

DSC_0082

DSC_0083

This was the bachelor who just married his beautiful lady in the Bahamas.
Lucky ducks!

DSC_0084

Someone was a little obsessed with Angry Birds.

DSC_0091

It was a great day overall.
We plan on making it a regular thing.

Girl time is very important you know.
