I love her garden.

She always loved animals.
They were her kids.

This is Mya.

This is Mya’s dog Maggie.
(Her tag says so.)

And this is Maggie’s nose.
Love, love it!

This shot is from last year on my mom’s birthday when we surprised her.
We were hiding in Cyn’s bedroom.

There was just something about Cyn that sucked you in.
No matter what you were talking about, you were going to laugh at some point.
No matter how boring the circumstances should be, you couldn’t really be bored around her.

Keep peeking down because I’m going to make you one proud aunt.
I love you Cynthia.
Always and forever.

Celebrating Cyn

My aunt Cyn passed away recently.
I flew down to California to celebrate her life with my family.
Her memorial was on Saturday.

It was a beautiful service held at Fairhaven Memorial Services in Mission Viejo.

It was a beautiful sunshiny day.
The chapel was beautiful.

The flowers were beautiful.

The memorabilia was set up beautifully.

And there were many beautiful moments.
Family and friends comforting each other.
Laughing through our tears as people spoke about what a wonderful woman she was.
She touched a lot of lives and made a lasting impact.

She will be missed.

Newborn Session ~Liam James~

Here is Mr. Liam James, my supremely adorable new nephew.

He’s a deep thinker already.

I think this is my favorite.

What an angelic bundle of joy.

This shot is a house fave.

He won’t stay small enough to fit in his daddy’s hand for long.

If only we could all sleep this peacefully.

Maternity Session ~My SIL at 40 Weeks~

My little nephew was born this morning!!
I’ll be posting pics of him soon, but I wanted to post the last maternity session first.

Warning: This is another long post.
We had a lot of fun wandering around downtown on Sunday.

Even Sam dog was excited.

The teenager decided to come out with us.

Baby Shower #2

This is a really long, really overdue, post.
Sorry.

The second baby shower for Mike and Angie went well.
It was a cute nature themed party with super yummy food.

Lots of gifts were to be had.

My brother hung up a hammock.

It made for popular seating and a fun ride for the little people.

I thought this was one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen.

The grandmas.

It was a coed party.
My brother and his girl have some awesome friends.

We played this game where we had to draw a baby on a plate on top of our heads.

This is my amazing drawing.

Mike and Angie judged the results and chose a winner. (Seen above.)

Then of course, we played the mystery baby food game.

So cute.

Then we played the mystery diaper game.
Hilarity ensued.

I think the Coconut 3 Musketeers and the Reese’s were the most realistic.
I can only imagine what people passing by thought of us all sniffing and tasting and poking at these “poopy” diapers.

You can’t tell from this picture but we had a really random rain shower in the middle of the party.
It disappeared as fast as it showed up.

Then we did a string circle.
We all sat in a circle and tossed around a ball of yarn.
Each person said something to the parents-to-be, either best wishes or advice, then wrapped it around their wrist a few times and tossed it to the next person.

This pretty pretty girl spent some time with Sam-dog.
I love soft doggy ears too.

Sam dog got a little jealous towards the end though and settled in the middle of the circle.

After we were all done, we cut off the string and tied it around our wrists.
We will keep them on until the baby is born so that every time we see it, our thoughts and wishes are sent to the parents-to-be.

I think it’s really sweet.
And so is this.
